Welcome to the 4th studio album recorded and produced by Vancouver native Ian Gregson. "STRANGER THAN FICTION" brings together recordings from the last six months or so [with a few exceptions] that were recorded at Ian's ADANAC STUDIOS.
IAN GREGSON has been part of something musical in the Vancouver area since arriving from England in 1981. Originally working for the VSO, Ian joined the Simon Fraser University radio station [CJSF] as DJ eventually becoming station manage and helping the station move to FM.
In 2003 Ian joined THE CARNIVAL BAND and eventually formed his own band MR M & THE ALLNIGHTERS, a tribute to NORTHERN SOUL AND WIGAN CASINO. IAN then formed the smaller outfit VAN CITY SOUL QUARTET the highlight of which was playing to a sold out crowd at the RIVER ROCK THEATRE in 2014.
Around this time IAN wrote his first original tune "Silver Shoes" and from then never looked back. His second single for VAN CITY SOUL QUARTET was THE FACE, a tribute to people of his hometown WIGAN.
In 2018 IAN produced his first true electronica based album "TRANS EUROPA EXPEDITION" inspired by a tour of EUROPE to BERLIN, FLORENCE and BARCELONA.
As COVID hit IAN was already seeing some success playing live on FACEBOOK. IAN then turned his attention to other virtual worlds, specifically the ALTERNATE METAVERSE on the OpenSim as avatar IAN KITSILANO. IAN plays live in the ALTERNATE METAVERSE every Sunday 1pm for more information on how to access the live show go to the web site link provided.
